ILOILO CITY - More than 200 motorcycles, e-trikes, tricycles and pedicabs have been confiscated since April 20 in this city by the local government's Public Safety and Transportation Management Office for violating enhanced community quarantine guidelines.
The ECQ, imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), suspended operations of public transportation.
However, according to Jeck Conlu of the city's PSTMO, a lot of people violate the city's quarantine protocols.
Most of the drivers were caught not observing physical distancing while driving their vehicles, while others were not wearing masks.
The PSTMO issued an impounding receipt to the violators.
They will be able to get their impounded vehicles once the ECQ is lifted.
