MANILA, Philippines -- Terrence Fortea may still be in high school, but such is his potential that he is already getting hype videos made for him by FIBA 3x3.
The standout from Nazareth School of National University (NU) was the subject of a FIBA 3x3 video, asking if the 18-year-old is the best 3x3 prospect in the Philippines.
A full version of the video on YouTube posited the question -- Is Fortea the new Terrence Romeo? Romeo, of course, starred in the 2014 and 2015 FIBA 3x3 World Tour, leading Manila West to the World Tour final.
The video touted Fortea's scoring skills, notably his range and ability to get to the basket. In the 2019 FIBA 3x3 Under-18 Asia Cup, Fortea teamed up with fellow NU stars Gerry Abadiano, Kevin Quiambao, and Carl Tamayo to lead the Philippines to a fifth place finish. He finished as the top scorer in the tournament with 31 points in 3 games.
Fortea has blossomed as a star for the NU Bullpups, most recently being crowned as Finals MVP in their conquest of the UAAP Season 82 boys' basketball tournament.
